Window Box Garden

I've always been interested in Urban Agriculture, finding ways for people to garden, and grow their own food no matter where they are. Grow lamps, self watering planters, vermicompost are some things I've used in apartments, but I haven't yet experimented with hydroponics. Watched this Ted Talk today about windowfarms.org, sounds like people with great ideas doing it right, they make available online clear instructions, and provide a area to share and build on each others ideas. I don't live in an apartment these days, but do move around a bit, and may use this as a portable garden idea. The  only restriction i can see with this is they rely on an electric pump, i think there are some ideas on the website for solar powered designs, if i get around to trying this out some day I'd probably look more into that.
